Kiev National Medical University n.a. O. O. Bogomolets is located in the capital city of the Ukraine,Kiev. The city is largest industrial, agricultural, scientific, and cultural center of Ukraine. The university was established in 1840, and it is one of the oldest universities of Ukraine. The university celebrated 176 years of its existence in 2016.

University provides education in two languages: Ukrainian and English. It is accredited to train foreign students in English medium in following courses:

  • General medicine
  • Dentistry
  • Pharmacy

The degrees earned by the students is recognized and registered by World Health Organization, Medical Council of India, and other major countries.

Practical Training in Kiev National Medical University

As practical training is one of the most important part of doctor`s life, Kiev national medical university has collaboration with many local governmental hospitals where students are trained in the supervision of doctors and medical workers.


University campus has 7 hostels which are of 17 floors each. Students may choose single, double or triple room by his/her choices. All rooms are equipped with all the necessary and useful services like wi-fi, security, etc. regular services of electricity, heating, cold and hot water, cleaning and security which are free of payment and provided by the University. Rooms are provided along with bed, mattress, pillow, blanket, desk, chair, cupboard, and suitable lighting for study and rest.

  • 24 hours hot water and electricity
  • Individual internet connection.
  • 24 hours security.
  • Flat like system in hostel, equipped kitchen to prepare food.
  • Laundry facilities.
  • Metro station is at a distance of 5-7 minutes.
  • Student`s canteen in the hostel.

Student`s life in this city is very good and filled with different possibilities. If you are good in sports there are various sports centers, gyms, and different sports club are there which organize tournament several times a year. If you are good in music, there are several music schools and competitions going through the city. Security services are very active in these countries and crime rates are very low. Local police is very active especially to help foreign citizens. Security is tight at the dormitories. Guards at this dorm generally lock the doors at 11pm and reopen them again at 5am. While it is possible to be let in past curfew, students said this was not guaranteed. People in the city are very curious about foreign students, so there it will be not a problem to get help from any local person if you stuck somewhere.

Transport for students: Full-time students of this university are entitled to reduced tariffs on public transport. The discount is quite significant. If a regular unlimited monthly metro pass costs 2,000 Ukrainian hryvniainUkrain and its other territories, a student pass costs just 380 Ukrainian hryvnia(prices as of 2017). Full-time students of Ukrainian universities have the right to a 50% discount for travel on suburban trains (within a single region). The discount is valid from 1 September to 15 June inclusive each year. You can receive a discount when you purchase a single-journey ticket by presenting your student ID card at the ticket office. For frequent travel, you can get a travel pass or a transport card.

Ukrainian museums offer a great number of discounts for students. Some museums even offer free passes to students for example, at the Tretyakov Gallery and the Pushkin Museum) to free passes (such as to the Hermitage and the Kolomenskoye Museum). Don’t forget that you need to present a valid student ID card to get a discount. Each year in May, many Ukrainian cultural attractions are also open to the public free of charge as part of the Night of Museums. Visitors can attend offered special exhibitions, seminars, lectures, workshops, concerts and much more.

Shopping company and services also offer discounts for students. Many stores distribute leaflets at universities, libraries and cafes. Special promotions often run on the eve of student holidays and at the start of the academic year.

Meal expenses– in universities there are cafeterias which are subsidized by the government hence prices in these cafeterias are lower. The minimum shopping basket ((including bread, pasta, meat, fish, vegetables, fruit, milk, and sugar) in Ukrain costs 2000 to 3000 Ukrainian hryvnia. There are lot of food options for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Ukrainian people often eat very healthy meal which helps them keep their body in shape.

Cellular communication, internet- SIM-cards for mobile and tablets are sold on phone stores. For getting a SIM your passport is necessary. Ask in store for advice on the best rates (cost of calls, sms-text, data, etc.). The cost of a standard package of services ranges from 100 to 150Ukrainian hryvnia(USD 3-5). When you buy a SIM-card, the cost of the card is credited to the phone number account and then you top up the balance depending on the tariff plan.
